2nd Luckiest Zap Ever

The first was when Majal_Koita became a robot. Here is the second:

ONG...Pea!

Wow. Not sure what else to say other than “Wow”.

Slow Screenie Day

Filed under: Screenies — goofyspouse @ 11:18 am

Ever since I let SpankaroonieTwo go play with auntie Foo, things have been slow for me in the screenie department. That is actually a good thing, by the way. What follows is not my usual snarky responses to messages from idiots. Hopefully it is still enjoyable.

Marketing 101

Filed under: Neohumor — goofyspouse @ 7:23 pm

Today I encountered a rarity on Neopets…someone who had something and knew EXACTLY how to market it to me:

Ooooh, Shiny Book

I doubt he squeezed 300k out of Lisa for a new book (no offense, hon! :) ), but beyond that, his approach is pure genius. I mean, just look at what the Book Award list looked like before I bought this book from him:

Second Place

How could I not buy the thing? It was priced about 100k more than I would normally dream of paying for a r88 book, but I couldn’t resist.

Great job! :-)

How much would YOU pay?

Filed under: Neohumor, Screenies — goofyspouse @ 4:10 pm

Not much to report these days. I have been flying under the radar on Neopets lately by virtue of my reading pet being in second place (The mail volume changes dramatically when she is in first!). Anyway, I read her a few books overnight and she is back on top. Cue the muppets, the sales pitches and the muppetey sales pitches…

11 Million Neopoint Book…and it still restocks!

The Profit Motive can be strong, but she is a cruel mistress.

Ban Fried Chicken Breasts…NOW!!!

Filed under: Rants — goofyspouse @ 12:27 am

I earned myself a 48 hour suspension last night, and I am still amazed at how it went down. Here is the note I sent to TNT via the the Premium Frozen Accounts page:

The account hasn’t been frozen…it has been suspended for 48 hours. But the reason for the suspension is so unbelievable, even by TNT’s prudish standards, that I have to send in a note.

Here is what took place tonight:

1) My girlfriend sent me an item: Fried Chicken Breast.
2) I sent her a silly, two-word Neomail in response: “Breast sender.”
3) Two minutes later, my account was suspended for “discuss(ing) sex or sexual topics (including the size of body parts, stripping, underwear, or nudity) in any manner on Neopets.”

Woe unto me…if only she had sent me Green Grapes instead! Or would I have been suspended for saying “Grape sender” because one of the Fruit of the Loom guys (ONOZ… underwears!!!1) happens to be a grape?

What the bloody hell is going on over there, people? Someone or some script clearly has a cranial-rectal inversion.

Can someone who *doesn’t* have his or her head up his or her butt override this obvious mistake?

Thanks for your time!

As you can imagine, my vitriolic missive did not warrant a response in TNT’s eyes. What good could come of it from their angle? None. The only options here are that they have an overzealous script handing out suspensions for the use of words that they themselves use on their site or that they have a complete asshat English-as-a-third-language person screening Neomails for ThoughtCrime. Neither of those is a position of strength, so the best way to handle the situation is to ignore me and let the 48 hours elapse.

I feel for TNT most of the time, as it is surely a huge job keeping a site with so many users safe for all of those users. But then they do shit like this that just makes me shake my head half in amazement and half in disgust.

The one thing I am falling back on right now is “At least it was just a suspension”. In the past, TNT was known for freezing first and ignoring questions later. This is even more ignorant than many freezings I have seen, but at least the ramifications are less dramatic.

Just 21 hours left now… Back to Urbaniacs, I guess. :)
